Rolland “Rollie” Klenz, 84, passed away on November 1, 2024, at the Ohio State University Hospital. He was born in Celina on January 31, 1940, to Glen and Violet (Bollenbacher) Klenz. On July 3, 1960, he married Virginia Elling, who survives in Delphos. Rollie is also survived by his daughter: Brenda (Dennis) Schnipke of Ottoville, four sons: Rodney Klenz of Ottawa, Randall Klenz of Delphos, Russell, Klenz of Lafayette Roger Klenz of Utah, 14 grandchildren: Brent Schnipke, Craig Schnipke, Melissa DeLong, Christopher Klenz, Samantha Widmer, Kylee Klenz, Jillian Klenz, Isabella Klenz, Jack Klenz, Bryan Klenz, Charles Klenz, Ryan Klenz, Morgan Carr, Miranda Klenz, Reis Klenz fifteen great grandchildren, his sister: Elaine Fritzinger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brotherin-law: Bill Fritzinger, his daughter-in-law: Jill Klenz, and grandchildren: Anthony Schnipke, Michelle Schnipke, and Michaela Klenz. He was a faithful member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church for 64 years. Rollie was hired at Harter and Son Funeral Home in 1960 and became a fixture there. He worked faithfully for 56 years, doing a little of everything, including the ambulance service the funeral home provided. He could fix anything. Rollie loved being with his family and especially enjoyed camping with them. Rollie loved people.
Between the ambulance service and funeral home he touched thousands of lives through his work. He was a man of a million great stories and loved to tell them to everyone. There will be a private service held with the family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
