OSHP: Buckle Up Every Trip, Every Time

VAN WERT — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding everyone to buckle up this upcoming holiday season. Since 2019, a total of 2,919 people who were not wearing an available safety belt were killed in traffic crashes on Ohio’s roadways.

Proposed manure storage facility faces scrutiny

VAN WERT —A proposed manure storage pond in Van Wert County has raised concerns among local residents, who argue that its location poses a risk to a crucial water aquifer and is too close to the river supplying drinking water to the nearby city of Delphos. The Ohio Department of Agriculture held a public meeting Wednesday evening at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds to discuss a draft Permit to Install for Triple R Farms, the swine finishing facility behind the proposal.

VAN WERT — Dr. Curtis Young, extension educator for Ohio State University in Van Wert County said recently that harvest has been progressing rapidly due to the non-prohibitive weather throughout much of October.
