MICHAEL J. ‘CHICKEN’ SCHUERMAN

DELPHOS — Michael J. ‘Chicken’ Schuerman, age 63, of Delphos, passed away, Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born May, 28 1961, to Robert (Sally) Schuerman and Carolee (Johnson) Krietemeyer, who survive. On Feb. 14, 2015, Michael married Tracey Hershey and she survives in Delphos.

Michael “Chicken” Schuerman, a proud 1979 graduate of Fort Jennings High School, will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love of life, and the joy he brought to those around him. A skilled brick mason by trade, Michael was just as passionate about his hobbies, especially golf, boating, and cheering on his favorite teams: Notre Dame, the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. He had a deep appreciation for music and treasured the countless good times shared with friends. Above all, his grandchildren brought the brightest smile to his face. His spirit, humor, and love will be deeply missed.

Michael is survived by two children; Amanda (Alex) Maag, of Fort Jennings, Ryan (Stacie) Schuerman of Fort Jennings; and a step daughter, Nicole Lee of Delphos; eight grandchildren, Ava, Mya and Grady Maag, Cameron, Emma and Isla Schuerman, and Mackenzie and Morgan Shock; three brothers, Tim ‘Poke’ (Kathy) Schuerman of Lima, Greg (Carol) Schuerman of Delphos, Mark ‘Herm’ (Trina) Schuerman of Fort Jennings; and a sister, Diana ‘Di’ (David) Ketcham of Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul Krietemeyer.\

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, Delphos. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Private family graveside will be held at a later date.
