MARVIN L. MAYS

DELPHOS – Marvin L. Mays, 86, of Delphos passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 2, 1938 in Barboursville, West Virgina, to Basil and Nellie (Nichols) Mays, who both preceded him in death. On Aug. 8, 1975 he married Mary Lou (Slater) Mays, who survives in Delphos.

Marvin is also survived by his sons, Michael (Gloria) Mays of Willard, Kentucky, and Rickey (Cheryl) Mays of Hardy, Kentucky; daughters, Shari (Richard) Turnwald of Van Wert and Chandra Trenkamp of Delphos; and a sister, Marilyn (Charles) Blackburn of Somerset. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryant Trenkamp, Joshua Trenkamp, Jacob Sterling, Nicole Schoeff and Rachel Turnwald; and great-grandchildren, Raya Long, Hayden Webb, Avery Trenkamp, Reagan Trenkamp, Raelynn Sterling, Madelynn Schoeff, Brooklynn Schoeff, Evelyn Sterling and Jayce Sterling.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Otis Mays, Lee Mays and Paul Mays; and a sister, Violet Estepp.

Marvin was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and boating. Above all he loved spending time with his family. Marvin was a strong and compassionate man who was always willing to do anything for anyone at any time. He will be forever known for his sense of humor.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Weber Funeral Home, Delphos. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Haddix will be officiating.
