DELPHOS Lillian Mary Looser, age 102, of Delphos passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 27, 1922 in Ottoville to Edwin L. and Mary A.(Grothaus) Wannemacher who both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on May 18, 1946, to William S. Looser, who preceded her in death on December 16, 2017, they had been married for 71 years.
Lillian is survived by four daughters, Jane Looser, Kathleen Richardson, Cheryl(Joseph) Smith, and Lisa(Wayne) Smith all of Delphos; four sons, Robert(Christine) Looser, Gerald(Mary) Looser, and James Looser all of Delphos, William Jr.(Catherine) Looser of Ottoville; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia Matson.
She was also preceded in death by her brother in law Orley Matson and her husband Bill’s family; Romus(Marie) Looser, Elmer(Jesslyn) Looser, Robert(Ann Marie) Buchanan, Dorothy Looser, and her mother and father in law, William and Dorothy Looser.
Lillian was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the CD of A, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She worked along side her husband Bill on the dairy farm, she and Bill were owners of the Country Kitchen Restaurant here in Delphos. Lillian also worked for both the Delphos Herald and the Lima News. She loved to bowl, play cards, dominos, and coloring pictures. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and scrapbooking along with baking Amish bread. She will always be remembered for having a clean, organized home with such a large, growing family. She loved to travel, especially her winter trips to Florida. She truly looked forward to daily visits from family and friends to her home. Most of all Lillian loved being with her husband and family. Her best days were spent sitting in the sun, watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian loved her family dearly and everyone of them were prayed for daily.
The funeral mass for Lillian will be on Friday, March 28, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m., burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 East Fifth Street, Delphos, where a Parish Wake service will begin at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
