KENNETH E. KROEGER

Kenneth E. “Ken” Kroeger, 90, of Ottoville, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 6, 1935, in Lima to the late Gilbert and Frances (Martin) Kroeger.

He is survived by six children: Stephen (Robyn) Kroeger of Lima, Theresa (Darrell) Von Sossan of Ottoville, Ann (James) McConnell of Loveland, Paul (Abbey) Kroeger of Ashville, Karla (Todd) Turnwald of Ottoville, Manda (Brad) Calvelage of Ft. Jennings; 20 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; four siblings: Betty (Don) Beining of Ottoville, Marilyn Lenhart of Spencerville, Bill (Barb) Kroeger of Delphos and Tom Kroeger of Delphos; and a brother-in-law, Mike (Heike) Keltner, of Alabama.

Ken was a proud Blue Jay, having graduated from Delphos St. John’s High School in 1953, he continued to follow and support his alma mater. Since moving to Ottoville in 1969, the Ottoville Big Green became his number one high school team, having lived his remaining years in Ottoville, where he raised his family. In a conversation with Ken, you could always catch up on the latest high school sports scores, and he enjoyed attending as many games as he could, especially with his kids and grandkids. He also spent many late nights cheering on his New York Yankees.
In addition to sports, Ken enjoyed listening to country music and attending shows, traveling, riding his bike, talking to people, and spending time with family and friends. He was a true listener in the best sense and was always available for a chat or phone call.
Ken proudly served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War and was an active member of the VFW Post 3740. Ken was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and the Knights of Columbus, Delphos. He worked at Philips in Ottawa and, after retiring, enjoyed delivering meals to the elderly for the Lock 16, continuing to ride along with his brother, Tom, until the end.
