JEANETTE M. RUFFING

 Jeanette M. “Jeannie”(Pohlman) Ruffing, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Thursday morning, October 16, 2025, surrounded by her family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
 Born on January 31, 1938, in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of Vincent Leo and Luella Theresa (Kroeger) Pohlman.  She was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a graduate of the Providence School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse.  Jeannie had worked at Providence Hospital for over 30 years before retiring. 
 She will be remembered by her family as being an avid Cleveland Indians fan, as well as how she enjoyed crocheting and especially making blankets for all of her grandchildren and other family members throughout the years.  Also, over the years, she had enjoyed bowling and working on hidden word search games. 
 Jeannie was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was involved with the bereavement committee.
 She is survived by her daughter, Joyce A.  Sehlmeyer of Sandusky; her grandchildren, Jason (Cindy) Sehlmeyer of N. Royalton, Jessica Sehlmeyer of Sandusky, Jodi (Michael) Satterfield of Willards, MD, and Ashlee (Daniel) Norrup of Huron; her five great-grandchildren, Cohen Nemitz, Madelynne Satterfield, Payson Sehlmeyer, Emily Sehlmeyer, and Kinzie Norrup; a brother, David (Dolores) Pohlman of N. Ridgeville; a sister-in-law, Arlene Pohlman of Columbus, OH; and her nieces and nephews.
 Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Lucille (Tremper) Pohlman; her husband of 49 years, Raymond A. “Ray” Ruffing on December 19, 2008; sons, Robert A. (1965) in infancy and Roger R. Ruffing (2011); a daughter, Janine M. Korte (2008); brother, Herman Pohlman; and her sister, Mary Ann Booth.
 Her family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 4-7 pm, with the North Ohio Lake Erie Nurse Honor Guard holding a tribute service at 6:30 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her on Monday morning, October 27, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Interment will be held later in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
 The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School Tuition Fund or the Central Catholic Athletic Boosters, 410 W.
