It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Harry “Jack” Francis Cramer, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left us on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 72. Jack was a cherished resident of Palmetto, Florida, but his journey began in Lima, where he was born on Saturday, November 1st, 1952.
Jack leaves behind his devoted wife, Cynthia Louise Cramer of Palmetto, Florida, and his three beloved children: Amy Castillo of Bandera, Texas, Danielle (Chris) Crawford of Pataskala, Ohio, and Jason (Sabrina) Cramer of Glandorf, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Ryan, Alyx, Bailey, Harley, Genevive, Colin, Tristen, Austin, and Savannah, and two great-grandchildren: Rylee and Kalie. He is also survived by his sister, Jane (Tom) Livingston of Punta Gorda, Florida, and his brother, Phillip Cramer of Ottawa, Ohio. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Marguerite Cramer, as well as his siblings, Charles, Carroll, Larry, and Daniel Cramer, along with sisters Marilyn Gulker and Mary Lou Bewsey.
Jack had a commendable career, excelling as a finish carpenter for over a decade with Jacks Improvements and previously working at Prudential for eight years and Field Gymmy for five years. A self-taught woodworker and carpenter, Jack’s passion for crafting beautiful furniture was evident in every piece he created. Education was important to Jack, earning him life insurance and security licenses, which were a testament to his commitment to providing a secure future for his family. His dedication extended to his active involvement with the Lions Club in Glandorf, Ohio, and the Boy Scouts of America, where he instilled values of service and integrity.
Friends and family knew Jack as a lover of the great outdoors, frequently embarking on RV camping adventures across the United States with his wife, Cindy. He enjoyed observing the avian world, and he loved and supported the Audubon Society. He found joy in searching for Indian arrowheads and was an avid rockhound. Antiquing, thrift store, and garage sale shopping were some of his favorite pastimes, and he had a unique gift for uncovering hidden treasures.
Jack’s contributions to his community, his craftsmanship, and his dedication to his family and friends will be fondly remembered. A graveside service for immediate family and siblings is scheduled for June 21, 2025, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will honor his memory on what would have been his 73rd birthday, November 1st, 2025. The venue for the celebration will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions be made to the National Audubon Society in Jack’s memory. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the support of all who knew and loved Jack.
Jack’s love for his family, his passion for craftsmanship, and his zest for life’s simple pleasures will forever be treasured in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
