GWEN A. (FRERICKS) ROHRBACHER

DELPHOS — Gwen A. (Frericks) Rohrbacher, of Delphos passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Vancrest of Delphos.

She was born July 12, 1933, in Wapakoneta to John H. and Mary Jeanette (Hurm) Frericks, who preceded her in death.

Gwen moved to Delphos with her parents in the summer of 1939. She graduated from Delphos St. John’s in 1951. Gwen was an attendant in the 1951 Delphos Centennial Celebration. She married her classmate, Richard R. Fischer, on Oct. 23, 1954. He preceded her in death on Oct.2, 1958. Gwen then married Charles A. Rohrbacher on Nov. 26, 1959. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2011.

Gwen is survived by a son, Charles A. Rohrbacher of Delphos; three daughters, Suzi (Jim) Bechtel of Goshen, Indiana, Sheryl (Don) Quan of Canton, Michigan, and Sharla (Brian) LaVelle of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Emma (Seth) Williams, Sam, Ben, and Chloe LaVelle, Nikia, Mikai and Kirei Quan; and step-grandchildren; Jamie and Randy Bechtel; step-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Amy, Jacob, and Natalie Bechtel. 

Gwen was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharyn Rohrbacher; and in-laws; John (Emma) Fischer, Clara (Carl) Wrasman, Joe (Esther) Fischer, Mary (Virgil) Renner, Martha (Bob) Pohlman, Leo (Bea) Fischer, Viola (Joe) Elwer, Francis (Jeanette) Fischer, Clarence Fischer, Joy (Charley) Carr, Clifford (Laura) Rison, Josephine (Lewis) Neff, and Jay Rohrbacher.

When Gwen was younger she worked at Remlinger Drugs and for her father at St. Marys Foods in Delphos. She was a vendor for over 25 years at Years Ago Antique Mall in Van Wert and Miami Erie Antique Mall in Delphos. Gwen was a volunteer at the Inter-Faith Thrift Store. She was a member of Delphos St. John’s Catholic Church and a member of Changing Times Mothers Club.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
