DELPHOS — Dorothy H. Stocklin, 96, of Delphos, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Cleveland to Joseph and Rose (Jarolimek) Jares, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1944, to Kenneth Stocklin, who preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by son, Kenneth J. Stocklin Jr. of Mighigan; daughters, Dottie (Robert) Baldauf of Delphos and Brenda (William) Bellmann of Elida; daughters-in-law, Ally Stockin of Lima and Mary Jane (Doug) Mullenhour of Delphos; 23 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Kroeger; sons, Curtis and Charles Stocklin; granddaughter, Amy Foust; great-granddaughter, Kailey Wright; sisters, Matilda “Tillie” Landers, Josephine Hatfield and Rosemarie Evans; and brother, Joseph Jares, Jr.
Dorothy worked for 26 years at New Delphos Manufacturing. She was a member of First Assembly of God. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, collecting dolls, and playing Bingo. She loved her family and spending time with them. Dorothy was very proud of the fact that she survived breast cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery held at a later date.
Visitation will also be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the residents and staff at Vancrest who were like family to Dorothy.
