Constance “Connie” L. Stemen, 79, of Delphos passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born in Lima on Nov. 20, 1945, to Roy and Catherine (Krebs) Tippie, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 3, 1983, she was united in marriage to Dave Stemen, who survives in Delphos.
Connie is also survived by children, Greg (Valerie) Dienstberger of Perrysburg, Dan (Diane) Dienstberger of Lima and Rick (Marla) Dienstberger of Delphos; stepchildren, William (Melly) Stemen and Dan Stemen of Delphos; brother, Mike (Michelle) Tippie of Florida; grandchildren, Nicole, Kirsten, Chris, Kara, Emily, Kylee; and step-grandchildren, Garrett, Don, Taylor, Alex, Maddison, Dominiq and Jesse; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Connie was also preceded in death by son, Bryon; brother, Tom Tippie; and sisters, Ginger Domin and Linda Johnston.
Connie was a homemaker and did a lot of babysitting over the years. She loved every moment that she was blessed to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie enjoyed traveling with her husband for the past 35 years. She was a very active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she helped teach Sunday School and prepare church breakfasts. Connie truly enjoyed “joshing” with people and anyone who would engage with her. She was also a volunteer at Franklin School. Connie’s favorite holiday by far was Halloween and enjoyed celebrating it. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, growing plants, and having a good snowball fight or two during Christmas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Chamberlain Indian School of South Dakota.
