DELPHOS — The St. John’s Blue Jays have carved an impressive legacy in Ohio high school football. With a stellar playoff record of 5613, boasting a winning percentage of 0.812, the Blue Jays are synonymous with excellence on the gridiron. Over the years, they have scored 2,392 points, averaging 34.7 points per game, while their opponents have managed only 1,032 points, averaging 15.0 points per game.

In high school sports, social media’s impact is increasingly evident, as athletes, teams and schools navigate its role in recruitment, publicity and personal branding. While social media offers significant opportunities, it also presents challenges that affect both athletes and their programs.
DELPHOS — The Delphos Country Club hosted the annual Tee Off Classic on Monday, featuring golf teams from St. John’s, Jefferson, Ottoville and Fort Jennings. The event saw impressive performances, with the St. John’s boys and Jefferson girls teams both capturing the championship titles.
CELINA — At the prestigious Celina Invitational held at The Lynx Golf Course, Tyce McClain and Evan Altenburger delivered remarkable performances, securing top placements with scores of 72 and 78, respectively. McClain’s stellar play earned him first place overall, while Altenburger’s impressive efforts landed him in the top ten.
INFORMATION SUBMITTED COLUMBUS — Four Ohio State Buckeye football players were among 12 in the Big Ten Conference to receive preseason honors in front of the start of 2024 Big Ten Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Buckeyes selected by a conference-wide panel of media voters, including two from each member school, included sophomore SAF Caleb Downs, senior WR Emeka Egbuka, senior RB TreVeyon Henderson and senior DE JT Tuimoloau.
INFORMATION SUBMITTED Involvement in high school sports and performing arts programs in our nation’s schools provide students many opportunities for future success, and two examples are front and center this week – one in Indianapolis and another 4,100 miles away in Paris, France. In Indianapolis, more than 250 high school sports and activities participants and more than 100 college and adult ambassadors are participating in the National Student Leadership Summit (NSLS) sponsored by the NFHS.
