FORT JENNINGS — The Fort Jennings Musketeers opened their season with a hard-fought battle against the Arlington Red Devils, but despite a strong start and a valiant effort from senior Jarron Swick, the Musketeers came up short in the end, 55-44.
TIFFIN — Tiffin University (4-2) overcame a second-half deficit to secure a thrilling 78-75 overtime win over Slippery Rock, with Jefferson graduate Lyv Lindeman playing a pivotal role in the victory.
COLUMBUS — Ohio State University, 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the Big Ten Conference, hosts the University of Michigan, 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Big Ten, in the 120th edition of the greatest rivalry in sports. FOX will broadcast the game nationally. Kickoff is set for 12:14 p.m.
SPENCERVILLE — The Spencerville girls cagers spotted invading St. John’s the first eight points Tuesday night, but outscored them 32-9 the rest of the contest for a 32-17 non-conference win at Spencerville High School.
OTTOVILLE — Behind four players scoring in double figures, the Ottoville Lady Green (3-0) delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night, defeating the Lincolnview Lady Lancers (1-1) in a decisive 58-15 victory at L.W. Heckman Gymnasium. The Lady Green’s balanced attack and suffocating defense propelled them to their third straight win to open the season.
DELPHOS — The Jefferson Lady ‘Cats used a balanced offensive attack and strong defense to secure a 33-24 victory over New Bremen in their home opener on Tuesday night.
