COLUMBUS — A lawsuit was filed in Franklin County on Thursday against the Ohio High School Athletic Association that could result in an emergency referendum vote of OHSAA member schools on a bylaw that would allow high school student-athletes to be compensated for their name, image and likeness (NIL).

Fall Sports Tournament Scores
COLDWATER — The #1 seeded Coldwater Lady Cavaliers (12-3-2) opened tournament play with a 5-0 victory over the #7 seeded Fort Jennings Lady Musketeers (4-13-1) on Tuesday evening in a Division V Sectional Final.
OTTOVILLE — The #3 seeded Ottoville Lady Green (7-9-2) defeated the #5 seeded Crestview Lady Knights (5-11-2) 4-2 on Tuesday evening at Bob Kaple Track and Field Stadium in a Division V Sectional Final to advance to Monday’s district semifinal against Jefferson.
DELPHOS — The Jefferson Lady ‘Cats advanced to the district semifinals with a 3-1 victory over the Spencerville Lady Bearcats Tuesday at Champions Field. Kyah Kimmett scored all three goals for the #2 seeded Lady ‘Cats (7-9-1), helping them move past the #4 seeded Lady Bearcats (6-9-3) and continue their postseason run.
SUNBURY — It was a memorable two days for local standouts Tyce McClain of St. John’s and Evan Altenburger of Ottoville as they capped their seasons with top-15 finishes at the OHSAA Division III Boys Golf State Championships at NorthStar Golf Club.
DELPHOS — Lilly Grothaus and Aubrey Metzger were recognized among the league’s best this week, earning All-WOSL First Team honors as the St. John’s Lady Jays were well represented in the league’s postseason awards.
