MILLER CITY — The Ottoville Big Green (4-16) put together a determined defensive effort in Saturday’s Division VII Sectional Final but were ultimately held in check by Miller City ace Andrew Weis, who threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Wildcats (21-3) to a 3-0 victory.

ELIDA — Limaland Motorsports Park hosted the annual Memorial Cup presented by Ohio Logistics on Friday Night, honoring the fallen members of the racing community and the fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

SPENCERVILLE — Area athletes made their mark at the Division III district track and field meet in Spencerville, with numerous competitors earning top-four finishes to secure a spot in next week’s regional competition in Troy.

DELPHOS — Kicking off tournament play on Friday evening, the #2 seeded St. John’s Blue Jays (14-11) dominated the #7 seeded New Knoxville Rangers (2-15) with a commanding 17-1 victory in the Division VII Sectional Finals at Stadium Park.

LIMA — The Jefferson Wildcats (7-17) traveled to face the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds (11-15) on Friday evening in a Division VII Sectional Final matchup between Northwest Conference (NWC) foes.

WAPAKONETA — In a clash of two of the area’s premier programs, the #2 seeded Minster Lady ‘Cats (25-5) edged top-seeded Lincolnview (24-4) in a thrilling 4-3 victory Friday evening in the Division VI District Finals.
