BLUFFTON — The Jefferson Lady ‘Cats (3-8) opened Northwest Conference (NWC) play on the road Thursday night, falling in straight sets to the Bluffton Lady Pirates (25-6, 25-8, 25-19). Bluffton improves to 8-3 with the win.

CONVOY — In a hard-fought defensive girls soccer match, Crestview and Fort Jennings battled to a 2-2 draw Thursday evening. The Lady Knights are now 3-4-1. The Lady Musketeers are 1-6-1.

SPENCERVILLE — The St. John’s Lady Jays (2-5-2) traveled to Spencerville on Thursday evening for a Western Ohio Soccer League (WOSL) matchup with the Lady Bearcats (0-5-3). Both teams traded chances throughout the night, and after 80 minutes of competitive action, the scoreboard showed no separation as the contest ended in a 2-2 draw.

The outing featured steady play from all three squads, with Lincolnview ultimately pulling away for the victory.

COLUMBUS — Top-ranked Ohio State (2-0, 0-0 Big Ten) will welcome Ohio University (1-1, 0-0 MAC) to Columbus on Saturday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff under the lights.


CELINA — The Jefferson Lady ‘Cats girls golf team hit the road Tuesday evening, traveling to Mercer County Elks Golf Club for a non-league matchup against the St. Henry Lady Redskins. It was a competitive outing, with both teams turning in solid scores on a challenging course.
