JOANN SELLER

JoAnn “Joey” Seller passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of “God is the Power, the Essence, of all things, seen and in the past, now and forever.” This is a Celebration of Life. She was born on May 24, 1924, in Indianapolis, IN, to Stanley Dumont and Esther Ranstead. She was a twin to Betty Lou Rutledge.

ROSEMARY C. WITTLER

Rosemary C. “Rosie” Wittler, 97 of Fort Jennings, died at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born November 18, 1926, in Ottoville to the late August and Eleanor (Bruskotter) Becker. On June 29, 1946, she married Leander Wittler. He died on March 2, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allen “Doc” Wittler; and two sisters: Ruth Gerdeman and Marilyn Woods. Survivors include five children: Kathy (Ed) Kimmet of Ft. Wayne, IN, Pat (Dan) Beckman of Beavercreek, Dean (Diane) Wittler of Fort Jennings, Becky Murray of Delphos, and Neil (Ann) Wittler of Fort Jennings; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and three sisters: Helen Bonifas, Jane Kimmet and Martha Etzkorn of Delphos. Rosemary retired from Drapery Stitch in Delphos as a seamstress and volunteered at the thrift store in Delphos. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 88, and American Legion Auxiliary 715. Rosemary loved going to all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Cleveland Indians, and playing cards. The family would like to give a special thank you to Vancrest of Delphos for their wonderful care of mom. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVEHEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, and one hour prior to the mass on Thursday at the church. WILLIAM G. BROADDUS

William G. Broaddus, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born April 20, 1939, to William E. and Margaret B. (nee Mulbarger) Broaddus in Union City, Indiana. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His career consisted of sales in the Medical Equipment industry and retired from Energy sales. He was a very involved member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a Sunday morning greeter. Bill was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 234 in Brunswick. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong Indians/Guardians fan, always having a great sense of humor. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Left to celebrate Bill’s life are his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Jane; his loving children, Derek (Debbie) Broaddus, Deanna (Tom) Hutchison, and David (Bridget) Broaddus; his adoring grandchildren, Abby, Cameron and Brenden; his sister, Dian (Jack) Staup; and many extended family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Brian Broaddus. The family will welcome visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. THOMAS JAMES CROSS

Thomas James Cross, Lt. Col., USAF, ret., age 86 of Pikeville, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. Tom was of the Baptist faith and attended Mt. Crest United Methodist Church. He loved his wife of almost sixty-five years and has missed her dearly for the past year. Tom loved his family and liked to travel, go camping, and fish. He was a student of the Bible, enjoyed singing, and had that very outstanding Baritone voice. Thomas retired after serving twenty-four years in The United States Air Force, was a member of the Military Officers Association, the Guidance Counselor at Howe Military Academy for five years, and was a faithful Master Mason, Eastern Star, Chapter Council, and Commandery, and faithfully attended the Bledsoe County Republican Party meetings. After retirement, he did some masonry and concrete work. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Jo Ann Powell Cross; parents, James Arthur and Helen LaSeta Cross; sister, Judy Helms. Tom is survived by his sons, Jeffery Ashford Cross, Robert Thomas Cross, and Timothy James Cross; daughter, Laura Ann Cross; great-grandchildren, Riley James Cross, and Stella Jo Hanley; sister, Rebecca Ann Miller; brother-in-law, Jerry Powell; sister-in-law, Hyang-Ryon; nieces; nephews, cousins; and a host of friends. A celebration of life with Masonic and military honors will be at 1:00 pm CDT Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bruce Bayless and Bro. Rudy Oakes officiating. Rosemarie Cross Sloan 70, of Klamath Falls Oregon, formerly of Delphos, went to be with the Lord Aug. 21, 2024. She was born Aug. 8, 1954, to Wilner L. Dease and Raymond Cross Sr., who both preceded her in death. Rose is survived by her loving family, including brothers, Ray (Judy) Cross of Delphos and Tim (Kim) Cross of Fort Jennings; a son, Jason Sloan and dogs Tootsie and Pearl of Klamath Falls; daughters, Jenelle Sloan of Rockford and Angie Kennedy of Van Wert; and sons-in-law, Gregory Jones and Joseph Kennedy of Van Wert. Rose also had three beautiful grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Randy, Hannah and Aliyah. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Chucky, Randy and Mark Cross; and one infant daughter. ROBERT J. MASON

Robert “Rob” J. Mason, 55, of Landeck, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Lima, OH, on December 16, 1968, to Roger and Joan (Knebel) Mason. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Landeck. Rob is also survived by a daughter, Nichole Mason of Grove City; son, Craig Mason of Pataskala; brothers, Chris Mason, Terry Knebel, and Jeff (Connie) Knebel; sister, Lisa Jewel; and grandson, Mason Boggs Rob was preceded in death by an infant son, Nicholas Mason. Rob was a big football fan, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He liked to fish, work with his hands, and could fix anything. Rob enjoyed sitting around a campfire and tending to his garden.
