David Wayne Maxwell, I, left his earthly home and entered the Kingdom on Sept. 22, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. Friday Sept. 27th, 2024. C. DEAN NOFFSINGER

C. Dean Noffsinger, age 98, of Elida, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at The Meadows of Delphos. He was born April 21, 1926, in Paulding to the late Jason and Ethel (Marlow) Noffsinger. On May 13, 1961, he married Betty M. (Widmark) Noffsinger who preceded him in death on November 1, 2018. He is survived by a daughter, Colleen (Doug) Harter of Delphos; four grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Cover of Powell, OH, Jennifer (Aaron) Hallard of Bloomington, IN, Greg (Donna) Allen of Laguna Beach, California and Mindy (Rob) Gillen of Lima; 8 great-grandchildren, Julianna Cover, Dylan Cover, Lily Hallard, Audrey Hallard, Lauren Allen, Kate Allen, Bailey Gillen and Savannah Gillen. He was also preceded in death by a son, Neil Scott Noffsinger; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamala( Gary) Allen; brothers, Raymond Noffsinger, Joe Stouffer, and John Stouffer. Dean was a retired rural letter carrier for the US Post Office in Elida. He was the owner of D& J Shooters Supply, Elida. He was a Sergeant of the 55th Fighter Group of the 334th Fighter Squadron in the US Air Force serving from August 1944 until August 1946. Dean was a life member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite - Valley of Dayton, and a life member of Delphos VFW Post 3035. He was also a member of The Delphos Club, Ft. Amanda Masonic Lodge #706 of Lima, Zenobia Shrine of Dayton, National Rural Carriers Association, Life Member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association and Okaboji Indians Trap Shooters Association. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St. the Rev. Rich Rakay officiating.

Carl W. Schimmoeller, 72, of Ottoville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. ANGELA ROSE VULGAMOTT

Angela Rose Vulgamott, 88, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024 at The Meadows of Delphos. She was born November 24, 1935 in Landeck to the late Clarence J. and Esther A. (Kill) Etzkorn. On June 11, 1955 she married Paul E. Vulgamott who preceded her in death on April 24, 1989. Angela is survived by a son, Michael E. Vulgamott of Landeck; a daughter, Tina M. (Brian) Dennis of Six Mile, SC; a son-in-law, Mark Snider of Cridersville; a brother, Bob (Janice) Etzkorn of Landeck; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat- grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah M. Snider; a brother, Carl Etzkorn; and a sister, Delores (Harold ‘Fuzz’) Pohlman Angela was a 1954 graduate of Delphos St. John’s and a 1972 graduate of Lima School of Practical Nurses. She had worked four years as a nurse’s aide at Norwalk Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. After moving back to the area she worked in the Labor and Delivery at St. Rita’s Medical Center, retiring in 2000 after 30 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. She was also a member of Spencerville VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 84 of Landeck and Delphos Eagles Aerie 471. Angela enjoyed taking bus tours with the Van Wert YWCA. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 6 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Renovation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. JoAnn “Joey” Seller passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of “God is the Power, the Essence, of all things, seen and in the past, now and forever.” This is a Celebration of Life. She was born on May 24, 1924, in Indianapolis, IN, to Stanley Dumont and Esther Ranstead. She was a twin to Betty Lou Rutledge.

Rosemary C. “Rosie” Wittler, 97 of Fort Jennings, died at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born November 18, 1926, in Ottoville to the late August and Eleanor (Bruskotter) Becker. On June 29, 1946, she married Leander Wittler. He died on March 2, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allen “Doc” Wittler; and two sisters: Ruth Gerdeman and Marilyn Woods. Survivors include five children: Kathy (Ed) Kimmet of Ft. Wayne, IN, Pat (Dan) Beckman of Beavercreek, Dean (Diane) Wittler of Fort Jennings, Becky Murray of Delphos, and Neil (Ann) Wittler of Fort Jennings; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and three sisters: Helen Bonifas, Jane Kimmet and Martha Etzkorn of Delphos. Rosemary retired from Drapery Stitch in Delphos as a seamstress and volunteered at the thrift store in Delphos. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 88, and American Legion Auxiliary 715. Rosemary loved going to all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Cleveland Indians, and playing cards. The family would like to give a special thank you to Vancrest of Delphos for their wonderful care of mom. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVEHEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, and one hour prior to the mass on Thursday at the church.
