St. John’s tops LCC 7-3 to advance to District Finals
ELIDA — The #2 seeded St. John’s Blue Jays (16-11) topped the #3 seeded Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds (11-17) 7-3 on Thursday evening at Elida’s Ed Sandy Field in a Division VII District Semifinal, advancing to the district finals.
Dr. Kaskel leads Good to Know Lunch & Go
Delphos Senior Citizens featured Dr. Beth Kaskel, an adult geriatric nurse practitioner as speaker at the May Good to Know Lunch & Go monthly educational series. Lunch was served to over 50 seniors and Dr. Kaskel spoke about the latest research on memory and aging. According to Dr. Kaskel, the Federal Food and Drug Administration this month approved the first blood test to look for Alzheimer’s markers. Besides giving 10 lifestyle choices seniors can make to preserve memory function, she also encouraged those 70 years old and better to ask for a cognitive evaluation at their annual physical. Swick hurls Musketeers to sectional title
FORT JENNINGS — Senior right-hander Jarron Swick delivered a masterful performance on the mound, throwing a 103-pitch complete game to lead Fort Jennings to a 2-1 victory over North Baltimore in Thursday night’s Division VII sectional final.
Elwer, McClain earn First Team All-MAC honors
St. John’s was well represented in the recently released All-MAC baseball selections, with Cameron Elwer and Tyce McClain both earning First Team honors for their standout seasons. The Blue Jays also had three players receive Honorable Mention recognition: TJ Werts, Josh Mueller and Brayden Pohlman.
