DELPHOS — Freshmen members of the Delphos FFA spent a day on the farm or at a local agribusiness to enhance their education and appreciation of the various sectors of the agricultural industry. The experience teaches students about real world agriculture and allows them to apply skills and techniques learned in the classroom.
COLUMBUS — Agricultural producers who have not yet enrolled in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2025 crop year have until April 15 to revise elections and sign contracts. Both safety net programs, delivered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), provide vital income support to eligible farmers who experience substantial declines in crop prices or revenues for the 2025 crop year. In Ohio, producers have completed just over 76,800 contracts to date, representing 78% of the more than 98,000 expected contracts.

COLUMBUS — St. John’s junior Edward Kessen etched his name into the history books on Sunday night, winning the Division III 138-pound weight class state championship at The Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center. With a hard-fought 7-6 decision victory over LCC’s Antwain Adams, Kessen became the first state wrestling champion in St. John’s history, capping off a remarkable tournament run.
BOWLING GREEN — The St. John’s Blue Jays (23-3) saw their season come to an end on Saturday afternoon at the Stroh Center, falling to Arlington (24-3) 51-46 in the Division VII regional finals. Arlington’s tough zone defense and a standout performance from Calvin Willow, who scored 22 points, helped propel the Red Devils to victory.
The Northwest District 8 Basketball Coaches Association has announced its awards for the 2024-2025 basketball season, recognizing standout players, coaches and scholarship recipients. The honors include selections for the Northwest District 8 and OHSBCA North-South All-Star Games, All-District teams and coaching accolades.
