Every third weekend in August, the rural community of Fort Jennings, Ohio swells from a population of 500 to several thousand people who gather to celebrate our military history and our veterans. This three day event features unique exhibits from all over the United States This year’s feature display will be the GoldStars Tribute Wall TM. This traveling monument is dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of our fallen Veterans. On this wall, you will find seven-thousand stars, each with an individual name, each representing those who were killed while serving in Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

DELPHOS — While Delphos Assistant Police Chief Administrative Sgt. Greg Foust always admired police officers as a child, he didn’t take a direct path to becoming one. Foust attended Elida High School as well as Apollo Career Center in his junior and senior year, where he was taught the trade of autobody repair.

On Saturday, three Vietnam War veterans, Kenneth Bendele, Virgil Dreffs and Don Nelson, will meeti again and fly together in a Huey at Fort Fest 2024. Decades ago, the three men had been involved in the same story of a particular Huey “slick” that had suffered some damage out in the field and then returned back to base for an emergency landing.
