DELPHOS — Delphos voters will see few candidates next Tuesday and three issues on the ballot.

DELPHOS — On Oct. 19, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing an equipment violation. During the investigation of the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest the driver, 33-year-old Dylan Mass, of Ottawa, for operating the vehicle while impaired.

VAN WERT — The Marsh Foundation is seeking a qualified and community-minded individual to fill the position of a retiring Trustee. The six-year term for this position will begin on Feb. 3, 2026, and conclude on Feb. 2, 2032. Additional six-year terms may be granted at the discretion of the Judges of the Third District Court of Appeals.

LIMA — Allen SWCD is offering a free drone demonstration of the district’s newly acquired drones, a DJI Matrice 350, which is equipped with a LIDAR scanning and inspection cameras, and a DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral which is used to assess crop health and nutrient status.

— The U.S. 30 westbound rest area will close on Thursday, Oct. 30, for approximately four days for facility maintenance. Reopening is expected on Monday, Nov. 3.

VAN WERT — Vantage Career Center Superintendent Rick Turner is asking voters to approve the renewal of a 0.2-mill permanent improvement levy that has supported the school since 1996.

— Interstate 75 between Hanthorn Road overpass and State Route 81 will be restricted to one lane, each weekend for five weeks between Sept. 12 - Oct. 18, Friday night- Saturday night, for concrete pavement repair. The pavement repair schedule was extended by a week due to the cancellation of one of the planned work weekends.

DELPHOS — The Delphos Fire Department spent part of Friday morning teaching young students at St. John’s Elementary School important lessons about fire prevention.

VAN WERT — The Ohio Supreme Court will decide whether postconviction DNA testing will take place in the case of John George Spirko Jr.
