Freshmen Experience: A truly educational day
DELPHOS — Freshmen members of the Delphos FFA spent a day on the farm or at a local agribusiness to enhance their education and appreciation of the various sectors of the agricultural industry. The experience teaches students about real world agriculture and allows them to apply skills and techniques learned in the classroom.

Senior center preparing for celebration on Senior Citizen Day
DELPHOS — It’s time to get ready for Senior Citizen Day! We’re celebrating our 50th Anniversary of course! Come and celebrate with us! It’s all happening on Friday, May 9 at the Center. We’ll have lunch at 11:30 am catered by Lock Sixteen. We’ll have a breaded, boneless chicken breast, noodles, corn, dinner roll and dessert. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased by Friday, April 25. We are limited to 60 guests.

VAN WERT— Some Delphos St. John’s students spent part of their day Tuesday learning more about county government.

Seniors hear from Homestead, Midwest Therapy at luncheon
Homestead at Towne Center and Midwest Therapy of Van Wert provided lunch and informational presentations at Delphos Senior Citizens Good to Know Lunch & Go on March 19. More than 40 senior citizens learned about the new assisted living and memory care facilities at Homestead from Marketing Manager Sam Jordan. Gina Overmeyer of Midwest Therapy gave tips for avoiding falls and information about outpatient therapy offered at Homestead. Good to Know Lunch & Go is a free lunch and learning opportunity offered by Delphos Senior Citizens at 11:30 am on the third Wednesday of each month. Pandora-Gilboa hosts Putnam County Arts Fest
PANDORA —Pandora-Gilboa High School hosted the 12th annual Putnam County Arts Fest on Sunday, which showcased both the performing and visual arts created by students of the schools of Putnam County. While at one time the performing arts and visual arts were separated, the decision was made to combine them in 2014.

Council passes lower CIP increase on utilities passes
DELPHOS – Residents will see a much lower increase on their water bills in May compared to years past.

Ottoville FD donates for memorial flags
Ottoville Fire Dept. does more than put out fires. They contribute to the community in many ways. Ann Hemker and some auxiliary members receive a donation from Fire Chief Dave Kimmet to the Ottoville VFW Post 3740 Auxiliary for the purchase of memorial flags for St. Mary’s Cemetery.
