Annabelle Margaret (Ernst) Saum

ANNABELLE MARGARET (ERNST) SAUM Annabelle Margaret (Ernst) Saum, 95, of Ft. Jennings, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Meadows of Delphos. She was born July 5, 1929, in Delphos, to Henry and Johanna (Baumgartner) Ernst. They preceded her in death. On October 30, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gerald Saum. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2018. She is survived by sons, Joseph (Becky) Saum of Delphos, and Steven (Beth) Saum of North Myrtle Beach, SC; daughters, Marjorie Jacobs of Delphos, and Cynthia Suever of Gomer; grandchildren, Taylor Saum, Zachary Saum, Stephanie Saum, Jennifer Smith, Lindsey Saum, Bethany (Chris) Harrell, Ryan (Samantha) Hasenfratz, Brenda (Adam) Crowe, and Christopher (Katie) Moenter; and 19 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. Annabelle attended Delphos St. John’s High School. She went on to work at the cigar factory in Delphos. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings. Annabelle was a cook for many years, doing countless weddings, and funerals at Ft. Jennings’ American Legion and St. Joseph’s. She was an avid baker and loved trying out new recipes. Annabelle was a life member of the VFW Post #6772 in Spencerville and a life member of the American Legion Post #715. Most important to Annabelle was her family. She spent as much time as she could with them. Annabelle was known as being kind and soft-hearted almost to a fault. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer
