April 16 deadline for Ag producers to enroll in USDA’s ARC, PLC programs for ’25

COLUMBUS — Agricultural producers who have not yet enrolled in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2025 crop year have until April 15  to revise elections and sign contracts. Both safety net programs, delivered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), provide vital income support to eligible farmers who experience substantial declines in crop prices or revenues for the 2025 crop year. In Ohio, producers have completed just over 76,800 contracts to date, representing 78% of the more than 98,000 expected contracts.

Senior center preparing for celebration on Senior Citizen Day

DELPHOS — It’s time to get ready for Senior Citizen Day! We’re celebrating our 50th Anniversary of course! Come and celebrate with us! It’s all happening on Friday, May 9 at the Center. We’ll have lunch at 11:30 am catered by Lock Sixteen. We’ll have a breaded, boneless chicken breast, noodles, corn, dinner roll and dessert. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased by Friday, April 25. Delphos Police reports March 16-22, 2025

DELPHOS — On March 16, during the early morning hours, an officer on patrol attempted to stop a dirt bike on West Clime Street. The operator and passenger fled down an alley, abandoned the dirt bike and fled on foot. The dirt bike was impounded and later reported to be stolen from Van Wert. The incident remains under investigation.

Lovina enjoys having all her family in church again

The sun is shining brightly and the temperature is in the upper twenties. The wind makes it feel colder than that. Twenty-one years ago we moved from our Indiana home to our home here in Michigan in March. It was cold with snow on the ground that year (2004). It doesn’t seem possible that it has been that many years ago. Daughter Lovina was born three and a half weeks early and arrived before we were all unpacked. Son Kevin was born the next year completing our family of eight children. Life has brought many changes during those years.
