NEVADA, Ohio — Cathy J. Abbott, 76, of Nevada, passed away at 4:17 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the James Cancer Center at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Cathy was born on Nov. 20, 1948, in Greenville to Marion D. and Wanda L. (Brown) Clapp. She married George Abbott on March 17, 1968, in Delphos. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2012.

Cathy is also survived by her two children, Beckie (Jim) Shuck of Upper Sandusky and Robert (Tammy) Abbott of Nevada.  She is also survived by her brother, Steve (Peggy) Clapp of Lima; and sisters, Pamela Moore and Marsha (Rick) Newland of Lima and Vickie (Jeff) Kleman of Delphos.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Pastor Brian Spangler and John Kibbler

Visitations for Cathy Abbott will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
