DELPHOS – Steven A. Wilson, 73, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.
He was born Jan. 15, 1952, in Huntington, Indiana, to Darrell D. and Lucille (Runion) Wilson. His dad preceded him in death on April 16, 1995, his mother survives in Huntington. On May 11, 2018, he married Anita (Cano) Wilson, she survives in Delphos. They had been together over 24 years.
Steve is survived by his children, Nick (Heather) Wilson of Huntington and Ashley (Joel) Zahm of Huntington, Brady (Lei) Wilson of Southgate, Michigan, Taylor Wilson (Bailey Reffeitt) of Angola, Indiana, and Justin Stewart (Megan Vanschoyck) of Delphos; grandchildren, Emma, Isaac and Bennett Wilson, Kennedy and Jerica Zahm. He is also survived by his sister, Connie and Carlos Shideler of Salisbury, North Carolina; a brother, Kenneth (Julie) Wilson of Huntington; in-laws, Angel (Keith) Wagner and Audra (Gary) Gunter of Delphos, Andrew (Jessica) Cano of Ada, father-in-law, Temi Cano of Delphos; mother-in-law, Beth Williams of Delphos; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Steve retired in 2020 from XPO Logistics, formerly Conway Freight (CCX) after 31 years of service.
He loved woodworking, fishing, gardening, lake life with his family, bowling, cards and cooking with new recipes since his retirement. After retiring he was the go-to guy to drive anyone and everyone to anywhere they had to be. He had a love of music and had a great voice that all loved to hear. He was a huge Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. One thing Steve will always be remembered for was that he told the best dad jokes.
A memorial service will begin at noon Saturday, Feb. 22 at Weber Funeral Home, Delphos, Rev. Steven Haddix, officiating.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and also 11 a.m. to noon Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
