Karen Sue Warnecke, age 76, of Boerne, Texas, formerly of Sidney, passed away Saturday, January 4th, 2025.
She was born September 19th, 1948, in Van Wert to Calvin and Betty (Rhodes) Fox.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Warnecke, who she married on Aug. 30, 1969; children, Melissa Schutte, of Boerne, Michael (Kim) Warnecke and Michelle Warnecke of Sidney, Mathew (Erin) Warnecke, of Clayton, North Carolina, and Marc Warnecke of Boerne; three grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Touron, Micheal Warnecke and Leeander Warnecke, with one on the way; two great-grandchildren, Zayden Touron and Braylon Cline; siblings, Kurt Fox, of Rockfort, Kris Fox, St. Marys and Keith Fox, Xenia; and in-laws, Kathie (Lee) Bogart, Karen Bensman, Robert (Gaya) Warnecke, Vera (Tony) Miller.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Calvin and Betty Fox; father and mother in-law, Richard and Irma Warnecke; one brother, Kerry Fox; son in-law, Dale Schutte; brother in-law, John Bensman; and one child, Calvin Richard Warnecke.
Karen graduated from Delphos Jefferson in 1966. She worked at Holiday Bowling Lanes, Super X drug store and NKP. She retired from NKP after many years. Karen was a member of the Catholic Church in both Ohio and Texas. She loved to read books and watch Ohio State sports. She was highly dedicated and enjoyed doing things with her family including watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She was a Girl Scout leader and the president of her sorority, Delta Theta Tau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
