LIMA — The road to the district tournament ran through Lima Central Catholic on Saturday as area wrestlers battled for the top four spots in each weight class, securing their advancement to the Division III District Tournament in Troy.
ELIDA — The top-seeded Ottoville Lady Green (23-2) made a statement in the district finals on Saturday afternoon, overpowering the No. 3-seeded Pandora-Gilboa Lady Rockets (14-11) with a dominant 73-32 victory at the Elida Fieldhouse. With the win, Ottoville punched its ticket to the regional semifinals, continuing their postseason run.
Ohio State begins its west coast trip on Sunday by visiting Pauley Pavilion to take on UCLA on Bill Walton Day. Tip-off is set for 3:45 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on CBS.

OTTOVILLE — Ottoville and Leipsic played just a week ago in a boys basketball Putnam County League (PCL) matchup at Leipsic, with the Big Green grabbing a 51-44 overtime triumph. This time, the Big Green won that extra four minutes 12-9 to oust the Vikings 50-47 in a Division VII sectional final.
MOUNT VICTORY — The No. 6 seeded Jefferson Wildcats (7-16) hit the road Friday night for a Division VII Sectional Final clash against the No. 3 seeded Ridgemont Golden Gophers (18-5). In a hard-fought battle, Ridgemont came away with a 48-41 victory to secure a spot in the district semifinals.
FORT JENNINGS — Just over a week after their regular-season clash, the No. 4 seeded Fort Jennings Musketeers (17-6) once again bested the No. 6 seeded Pandora-Gilboa Rockets (9-14), this time securing a Division VII Sectional Final victory Friday night at “The Fort.”
DELPHOS — After closing the regular season with a tough overtime loss, the No. 1 seeded St. John’s Blue Jays (20-2) bounced back in dominant fashion Friday night, rolling past the No. 8 seeded New Knoxville Rangers (5-19) in the Division VII Sectional Finals at “The Vatican.”
