CINCINNATI — First Financial Bank and its associates donated a total of more than $4.6 million last year throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, with team members also donating 14,871 volunteer hours, as ongoing evidence of the bank’s commitment to the community.
Students in fifth grade science at Jefferson Middle School enjoyed hands-on science activities to wrap up their unit on Sound Energy. Rachel Smith from the SESA program put students through activities to test a sound’s pitch, frequency and volume. Above left: studen ts demonstrate how the sound of their voice produces vibrations that cause the salt on a bucket to dance. By changing the pitch in their voice, they could create fast and slow vibrations that made the salt dance at various speeds or frequencies on the top of the bucket.
