LSO sets 2014-15 season

The Lima Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2014-2015 season, commencing with the spectacular Cirque de la Symphonie.

The 2014-15 season will be vibrant, engaging and extraordinary like no other. The LSO will open with Cirque de la Symphonie on Oct. 11 as it fills the Civic Center with gravity-defying aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen. As the orchestra brings the magic of Cirque to the performance hall, each act will be perfectly choreographed to fiery symphonic favorites and classical masterpieces for an evening sure to astound the entire family.

Raymond Harner, owner of CG Pro Bikes in Columbus Grove, has been a serious cyclist since he was 13 years old and has always had a dream of one day racing in Italy. On April 28, he will realize his goal when he rides in the Fizik Granfondo race in Marostica, Italy.


District voters to see two City Schools renewals

DELPHOS — District voters will see two renewal levies on the May 6 Primary Ballot. A 5.5-mill Operating Levy and a 2.25-mill Permanent Improvement Levy, both with a term of five years, will seek voter approval.

The Operating Levy generates nearly 10 percent of the district’s General Fund at 853,000.

Brush and tree-cutting at canal

Lou Hohman has scheduled a brush and tree cutting along the canal south from Cleveland Street toward Clime Street beginning at 9 a.m. Monday.

A chipper/shredder will be at the site and Hohman needs some volunteers to help on that morning.

Volunteers will meet at the canal on Cleveland Street.
