The following individuals appeared Wednesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court: Arraignments Jason Vanover, 32, Van Wert, was arraigned on three counts of trafficking drugs, each a felony of the fifth degree; and three counts of complicity in trafficking in drugs, each a felony of the fifth degree. He pled not guilty and was released on a surety bond. Pretrial set for Oct. 10.

Twelve arraignments were held Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court following a Special Session of the Van Wert County Grand Jury this past Friday: Jessica Thompson, 26, Van Wert, was charged with three counts of trafficking drugs, each a felony of the fifth degree; and three counts of complicity to trafficking in drugs, also each a felony of the fifth degree. She pled not guilty and was released on a surety bond. Her case was set for pretrial on Oct. 3. Susan Shawley, 43, Van Wert, was arraigned on three counts of trafficking marijuana, each a felony of the fourth degree. She pled not guilty and was released on a surety bond. Her case was set for pretrial on Oct. 3. Deana Ladd, 42, Van Wert, was charged with four counts of trafficking drugs, each a felony of the fourth degree. She pled not guilty and was released on a surety bond. Pretrial is set for Oct. 3.

At 6 p.m. on Thursday, while on routine patrol in the 300 block of South Pierce Street, Delphos Police came into contact with Heidi Stormont, 52, of Van Wert, at which time it was found that Stormont was operating a motor vehicle while having her driving privileges suspended. Stormont was also displaying fictitious plates on the motor vehicle she was operating. Stormont was cited into Lima Municipal Court on the charges.

At 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of South Canal Street in reference to a theft at a residence in that area. Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated sometime in the overnight hours, someone gained entry into the victim’s motor vehicle that was parked at the residence and had taken items from inside the vehicle. Detectives were contacted and collected evidence from the scene.

At 5:25 p.m. on Monday, Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of East Ninth Street in reference to a resident in that area calling to neighbors for assistance. Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated a family or household member had caused physical harm to them. As a result of the investigation, officers found enough probable cause to arrest Bradley McGue, 23, of Delphos on charges of domestic violence. He was transported to the Allen County Jail and will appear in Lima Municipal Court on the charge.
