Police probe three-car accident PDF Print

A Fort Jennings woman was cited for assured clear distance following a three-vehicle accident at approximately 4:48 p.m. Monday on East Fifth Street.

According to the police report, Karen Maenle struck the rear bumper of a vehicle driven by Craig Ebbeskotte, 41, of Delphos, which in turn, struck the bumber of the vehicle in front of it driven by Dane Stose, 28, of Delphos.

No one was injured.

At 5:02 p.m. on Sunday, Delphos Police went to a residence in the 200 block of North Pierce Street at which time they served an active arrest warrant issued out of St. Marys on Lindsey Bradley, 55, of Delphos.

Bradley was taken into custody and later turned over to St. Marys officers.

At 6:21 p.m. Thursday, while on routine patrol in the area of South Clay Street and West Clime Street, Delphos Police came into contact with a 16-year-old juvenile male.

Officers found the juvenile to be driving while having his driving privileges suspended. As officers conducted the traffic stop, the juvenile was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

The juvenile was cited into Van Wert Juvenile Court and was released to an adult.

At 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to Waterworks Park in reference to a vandalism complaint at that location. Upon officers’ arrival, they met with city employees who advised damage was done to the restroom at that location.

At 11:43 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 400 block of South Cass Street in reference to an issue with a 16-year-old juvenile at a residence in that area.

Upon officers’ arrival, the juvenile was found to have abused harmful intoxicants and was in an altered state. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Charges in this case are pending in Van Wert Juvenile Court upon approval by the Prosecutor’s Office.

At 2:17 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the 400 block of South Cass Street in reference to an assault.

Upon officers’ arrival, they met with the victim who stated that while at a residence in the 200 block of Holland Avenue, they were assaulted by a subject known to them.

The victim refused medical assistance at that time.

The case was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges.

Suspect in numerous burglaries in Van Wert, Allen counties arrested in Delphos PDF Print

DELPHOS — Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach has announced deputies, with assistance from the Delphos Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Tuesday at 835 W. Skinner St., Lot 52, in Delphos.

The search warrant was in connection with the recent residential burglaries in Washington and Jennings townships and Allen County.

During the course of the investigation, deputies developed information that led to them obtaining a search warrant for the above residence. Also, as part of the investigation, a suspect in the burglaries was identified.

During the search of the above residence, the suspect, Kenneth W. Wright, 25, of Delphos was taken into custody. Also, as a result of the search warrant, a number of items stolen in the residential burglaries were recovered. Other items stolen in the burglaries were recovered at different locations. A small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also recovered at the residence.

Wright is currently incarcerated at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility. He is charged with one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree, and is scheduled for arraignment in Van Wert Municipal Court on Thursday.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed.

Dennis Lee LouthDennis Lee Louth, 69, of rural Spencerville, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday at Kindred Hospital in Lima, following an extended illness.

He was born July 18, 1944, in Lima, to Maurice “Pete” and Myrtle Rahrig Louth, who preceded him in death.

On June 22, 1974, he married Kay F. Lawson, who survives.

Other survivors include his son, Alex Louth of Spencerville; his grandson, Christian Louth of Bellefontaine; four siblings, Bernard Louth of Mendon, Larry (Audrey Borden) Louth of Celina, Marilyn Ladd of Spencerville and Rex (Deb) Louth of Cridersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Spencerville High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Germany. An entrepreneur, he was owner of Louth Sales in floral supplies.

He was a member of the Church of Christ of Auglaize County Wapakoneta. During his Army days, he traveled Europe and enjoyed mountain climbing. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and NASCAR.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at his church on St. Rt. 67 in Wapakoneta with Minister Patrick T. Powers officiating and military rites being conducted at the church by the Spencerville Veterans.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until services at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
