VAN WERT — Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach announced that several pounds of suspected marijuana were seized during a traffic stop on Monday.

At approximately 10 p.m. Feb. 13, the Delphos Police Department responded to the 700 block of East Second Street to investigate a garage break in. Upon arrival, officers met with the resident who stated unknown subjects had taken hand tools and miscellaneous items from inside the garage. A vehicle inside the garage had sustained minor damage as well. At this time, the incident is still under investigation.

DELPHOS — A driver fled the scene of an accident that occurred around 9:15 p.m. Feb. 15.

Gage Seffernick, 17, of Delphos was stopped at a red light in the outside lane of East Fifth Street facing east.

The driver of another vehicle rear ended Seffernick’s vehicle. The driver went to talk with Seffernick but went back to his vehicle and fled the scene when Seffernick said he was calling the police.

Seffernick’s vehicle received minor damage to the rear center.

At 5:51 p.m. Friday, a Delphos police officer on patrol observed an equipment violation on a motor vehicle. As a result, the officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the vehicle’s driver, 31-year-old Michael Joseph of Delphos. During the traffic stop, officers found Joseph to be in possession of marijuana. Joseph had a passenger in the vehicle, 15-year-old Isaac Williams, who was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Joseph was issued a citation for the possession of marijuana and the equipment violation and Williams was issued a citation for possession of marijuana. Joseph will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court while Williams will appear in Van Wert Juvenile Court to face the charges.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 6, Delphos Police officers observed a female, 31-year-old Ashley Harter of Delphos, whom they know on sight, walking on a residential property in the 800 block of West Skinner Street.

Harter had previously been issued a criminal trespass warning for that property and advised that if she was located there, she would be arrested.

Due to officers seeing Harter on the property, she was charged with criminal trespass and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charge.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Clime Street at 12:34 a.m. on Feb. 7 for a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim and the suspect.
