A Beaverton, Mich., man was cited for a marked lane usage violation after a single-vehicle accident reported at 1:11 p.m. Monday.
Harrison Bugbee, 60 of Beaverton was traveling southbound on North Main Street and attempting to turn west onto First Street but cut the corner too close causing his vehicle to strike a street light.
No one was injured.

The following individuals appeared before Judge Charles Steele Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:
Lester E Sulfridge III, 25, Van Wert, was sentenced on a charge of abusing harmful intoxicants, a misdemeanor of the first degree. 
His sentence was one year community control, 30 days jail, 100 hours community service, substance abuse assessment and treatment and pay court costs. 180 days jail and $1,000 fine were deferred pending completion of Community Control.

A Delphos man was cited for improper backing following a two-vehicle crash reported at 5:52 p.m. Friday near the intersection of South Main and Suthoff streets.
According to the report, Jerry Backus, 39, of Delphos, was attempting to back from a parking space at Niedecken’s Carry Out when his vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle owned by Mark Luna of Celina.
The Luna vehicle sustained moderate damage and the Backus vehicle sustained light damage.
No one was injured.

 
Driver blames sun after striking fire hydrant PDF Print

No citations were given in a single-vehicle accident involving a fire hydrant reported at 4:25 p.m. Friday.
According to a Delphos Police report, a vehicle driven by Karl Schneider, 87, of Delphos, was traveling westbound in the 800 block of East Third Street when his vehicle traveled left of center and struck a fire hydrant in front of 821 E. Third St. Schneider told police the sun momentarily blinded him.
Schneider left the scene and drove to Delpha Chevrolet and called the police from there.
The Schneider vehicle sustained functional damage.

 
Cloverdale teen shoots self in leg while hunting PDF Print

A Cloverdale teen was treated and released from St. Rita’s Medical Center Sunday evening following a self-inflicted gun shot wound while deer hunting.
Marvin L. Warnimont III was hunting in the area of Road F-12 in Putnam County at approximately 8:30 p.m. when his gun went off and he was struck in the leg.
