At 6:31 p.m. on Wednesday, Delphos Police were contacted by a resident of the 500 block of East Third Street in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon speaking with the victim, it was found someone had gained entry into the victim’s vehicle and had taken a wallet from inside.

The following individuals appeared Wednesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Muncipal Court:

Arraignments
Samuel Geckle, 44, Convoy, pled not guilty to weapons under disability, a felony of the third degree.
He was released on a surety bond and his case is set for pretrial Feb 13.

Lawrence Blakely, 63, Van Wert, pled not guilty to nine counts of deception to obtain dangerous drugs, each a felony of the fifth degree; and to one count of Workers Compensation fraud, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
He was released on a surety bond and his case is set for pretrial Feb 13.

Todd Vincent, 46, Willshire entered a not guilty plea to corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the second degree; possession of docaine, a felony of the fifth degree; and permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree.
He was released on a surety bond with a condition that he have no contact with the alleged victim and his case set for pretrial Feb 13.

At 1:51 p.m. on Tuesday, Delphos Police were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of North Jefferson Street in reference to an assault that occurred in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, they spoke with the victim who stated he was assaulted by three males while attempting to retrieve property from a subject who had just taken the items from him.
The victim received medical attention from a local medical facility for minor injuries.
The case will be forwarded to the prosecutors office for review and possible charges.

Nine defendants appeared Wednesday before Judge Charles in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Bond violation
Brittnie Garwood, 24, Van Wert, admitted to violating her personal surety bond by being arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence.
She was ordered held on $100,000 cash bond until her sentencing date on March 6 on her plea to drug trafficking.
Changes of pleas

Bronson Pate, 31, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to an amended charge of trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fifth degree. He was originally charged with trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fourth degree.
The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 13.

The following individuals appeared Tuesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Zachary Dominique, 24, Van Wert was sentenced for trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fifth degree.
His sentence was: 9 months in prison with credit for 3 days served. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and the Van Wert Police Department in the amount of $180, plus court costs. He was remanded to jail for transfer to prison.

Jason Vanover, 32, Van Wert was sentenced in two cases: possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree; and trafficking heroin, also a felony of the fifth degree.
He was sentenced to prison for 12 months on each charge, concurrent with credit for 48 days already served. He was also ordered to pay court costs and was remanded to jail for transfer to prison.
