Mr. and Mrs. Norbert MillerMr. and Mrs. Norbert Miller will observe 60 years of marriage on Aug. 22.

To celebrate, a Mass of Thanksgiving will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, followed by a family dinner and an open house from 2-4 p.m. in the Parish Center.

Norbert and the former Angela Kahle were married on Aug. 22, 1953, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida, the Rev. Weis officiating.

They are the parents of five children, Ronald (June) Miller of Ottoville, Deb (Steve) Klaus of Lima, Gene (Sheila) Miller and Dennis (Bonnie) Miller of Ottoville and Randy (Darlene) Miller of Elida. They also have 14 grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Norbert owned, operated and retired from Norb Miller’s Repair. Angela retired from the Ottoville Local Schools cafeteria.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene GableEugene “Gene” and Joyce Gable of Delphos will observe 50 years of marriage on Aug. 17.

The will celebrate with a family dinner followed by an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 1 at the K of C hall on Elida Road in Delphos. Please, no gifts.

Eugene and the former Joyce Smith were married on Aug. 17, 1963, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima, Father Cleo Schmenk officiating.

They have five children: daughter Cheri (Phil) Verhoff of Ottawa and sons Mike (Deb) Gable of Fort Jennings, Todd (Maribeth) Gable of Delphos, Clark (Lisa) Gable of Decatur, Ind., and Rick (Angie) Gable of Delphos. They also have 12 grandchildren and one grandson is deceased.

Eugene retired from Holland-Binkley/Fruehauf. Joyce retired from First Financial Bank.

Mr. and Mrs. David LoudenslagerThe Casa Marina in Key West, Fla., formed the setting for the April 27, 2013, beach wedding of Shalynn Ann Fortman and David Douglas Loudenslager. Rev. Steve Torrence officiated the 6:30 p.m. sunset exchange of vows.

Parents of the couple are Catherine and John Fortman of Ottawa and Barbara and Doug Loudenslager of Columbus.

The bride wore a V-neck sleeveless organza and lace dress with hand-beaded lace bodice with rouched organza midriff with slim skirt and scalloped hemline. Shay carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas.

Maid of Honor was Heather McGlaughlin of Ottawa, friend of the couple. Bridesmaids were Branden Fortman of Bluffton, sister-in-law of the bride; Jennifer Loudenslager of Xenia, sister of the groom; Jessica Fields of Columbus, friend of the couple; Amber Maidment of Pittsburgh, Penn., friend of the couple; and Holly Unterbrink of Naperville, Ill., friend of the couple.

Best Man was Blake Buhl of Indianapolis, friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Jonathan Fortman of Bluffton, brother of the bride; Chris Loudenslager of West Lafayette, Ind., brother of the groom; Zack Fortman of Ottawa, brother of the bride; Bryan Walker of Columbus, friend of the couple; and Kevin Unterbrink of Naperville, friend of the couple.

A steel drum band played outside during the cocktail hour. Then, dinner and dancing for approximately 100 guests followed on the deck and inside of the Casa Marina Resort.

After a wedding trip to Kauai and Maui, the couple is at home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The bride is a graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School and Bowling Green State University with a business marketing degree. She works for the Florida Yacht Brokers Association in Fort Lauderdale.

The groom is a graduate of Van Wert High School and The Ohio State University with a construction management degree and works as a project manager for Duke Realty in Weston, Fla.

Drerup/BockeyNick Drerup and Brenda Bonifas of Delphos announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey, to Adam Bockey, son of Paul Bockey and the late Arlene Bockey.

The couple will exchange vows in the fall at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Jefferson High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne and a 2011 graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Maine. She is a radiologic technician at Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

Her fiance if a graduate of St. John’s High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of St. Francis. He received his doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville in 2011. He is a physical therapist at The Orthopedic Center of Excellence in Louisville.

Mr. and Mrs. Norbert “Piney” Suever of Landeck celebrated 50 years of marriage on Aug. 3.

A family vacation was taken at a lake house.

They have three daughters, Laura (Larry) Reynolds of Delphos, Kathy (Joe) Kahle of Spencerville and Sandy (Jim) Tomsic of Pickerington. They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Norbert works at Apollo Career Center in Lima. Rita works at Landeck St. John the Baptist Church.
