DELPHOS —Members of the Delphos City Schools Board of Education used an executive session at the end of Monday’s meeting to discuss hiring a superintendent.
Interim Superintendent Frank Sukup has agreed to stay with the district until the end of this school year.

During the public portion of the meeting, members approved moving Kristin Gable to the 150-hour column of the salary schedule as per the negotiated agreement. Gable has reached 150 hours of continuing education toward her master’s degree.

Nikki Geise was employed to fill the middle school cafeteria cashier position. She was selected for the position through civil service testing. Geise is also a part-time custodian at the middle school.

The board also approved an updated job description for Cafeteria Manager Sue McKee and policy manual updates as recommended by the Ohio School Boards Association.
Treasurer Brad Rostorfer requested the creation of the Martha Jennings Holden Grant Fund. High School Social Studies teacher John Vennekotter received a $2,407 grant to purchase an iPad and five sets of encyclopedias for presentations and student projects on global awareness.

City and parochial schools will dismiss classes at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes will resume on Nov. 26.

The next meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Dec. 10.
