Delphos Kiwanis Club member Bill Bellmann flips flapjacks Saturday morning during the club’s 2nd annual Pancake and Sausage Day at Jefferson High School. The club took over the event from the defunct Lions Club. The group served 1,837 meals including 628 carry-outs; 500 more than last year. Diners went through 88 gallons of orange juice, 75 gallons of milk, 35 batches of pancake batter (5,000-plus pancakes), 132 bottles of syrup, 3,000 pats of butter and 1,100 pounds of sausage. Proceeds will go toward the Kiwanis’ next community project.
