St. John’s alumnus Jessica Alt, daughter of Lisa and Adam Williams and Don Alt, was named Homecoming Queen 2012 at Bowling Green State University last weekend.
Alt is a human development and family studies major, with a minor in psychology, at BGSU.
Jessica Alt was named BGSU Homecoming Queen 2012 last weekend. BGSU mascot Freddie Falcon congratulates her.
Alt’s hard work and dedication to the enhancement of BGSU led her to the honor of BGSU’s 2012 Homecoming Queen. She was nominated as a member of the 2012 Royalty Court and following submission of a written application and interview, she was one of five senior girls chosen as a nominee for queen. The student body voted and she was elected as queen last weekend.
“I am more than thrilled to have such an honor bestowed upon me and I plan to continue making the most of my time at BGSU during these final months of my undergraduate student experience on campus,” Alt said.
Since entering college in 2009, Alt has been employed at the university bookstore and has earned the position of student manager II. She is a Campus Tour Guide, a New Student Orientation Team Leader and works as a Suite Host for home football games. Jessica is also very involved on campus through various organizations and leadership roles. She is a member of Phi Sigma Pi, a National Honor Fraternity, where she has held the position of vice president. She has been extremely involved in BGSU’s Campus Relay for Life. In the spring of 2012, Jessica biked 180 miles from Cincinnati to Bowling Green in three days. The money she raised to sponsor her ride went to the Children’s Miracle Network. She will be riding again in 2013, this time as a member of the Core Committee for the organization referred to as “Bike for Tikes.”
She is set to graduate in May 2013.
Following graduation, she plans to continue her education in graduate school in the fall of 2013, pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling. Her passion is focused on helping others and she has exemplified this throughout her college career.
