Betty L. Hoverman, 84, of Delphos, died at 12:26 p.m. Sunday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born July 18, 1928, in Delphos to Robert V. and Grace (Barnt) Rinard, who preceded her in death.
On July 3, 1947, she married John Roger Hoverman, who died Jan. 15, 1987.
Survivors include three sons, Roger (Andrea) Hoverman of Utah, Tom (Kristy) Hoverman of Lebanon and Steve (Denise) Hoverman of Lima; a daughter, Lisa (Christopher) Deters of Lima; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Rinard and Vaughn Rinard; and a sister, Kathryn Porter.
Mrs. Hoverman co-owned Hoverman Studio with her husband until his death. She then was a registered nurse at St. Rita’s Medical Center, working on the maternity floor providing care for mothers and babies. She retired after 10 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She served as president, vice-president and print chairman of the Professional Photographic Artists of Ohio on both the state and national levels. She resided in Florida for many years and loved the ocean.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association.
