Betty Jane Fair, 83, of Lima, died at 12:33 Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Lima, to Harold and Nellie (Jones) Bolen, who preceded her in death.
On Feb. 28, 1953, she married Donald Fair, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include son Gregory (Charisse) Fair of Spring Lake, Mich.; daughter Donette (David) Roosenberg of Lima; brother Douglas Bolen of Athens, Ga.; sister-in-law Lois Markward of Delphos; grandson, Tyler (Natasha) Fair of Muskegon, Mich.; and great-granddaughter, Layla Fair of Muskegon.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Mrs. Fair worked for many years and retired from retail. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church for 50 years and was in its Rhoda Circle. She was a 1947 Lima South High School graduate and member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees since 1988. She loved to bake, cook, had a green thumb for growing her plants and was very artistic.
Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Shawnee Chapel, the Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Shawnee Chapel.
