Paul H. Feathers, Sr., 73, of Delphos, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Van Wert County, to Floyd and Ethel (Martin) Feathers.
On Nov. 12, 1961, he married Barbara Ellerbrock, who survives.
Other survivors include son Paul (Kathy) Feathers Jr. of Delphos; daughter Michele (Scott) Dellinger of Delphos; sister Norma (Feathers) Violet of Delphos; brother Fred (Wanda) Feathers of Spencerville; grandchildren Nicholas and Nolan Feathers and Holly and Tyler Dellinger; step grandchildren Krista (Chad) Schrader and Trista Dellinger; and step great-grandchildren Kaden and Kendall Schrader.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William; and sister-in-law Lorene Feathers.
Mr. Feathers served for six years in the National Guard and retired from Philips in Ottawa after 42 years. He was a member of the Delphos VFW and American Legion posts, the Delphos Eagles Lodge, Delphos Coon Hunters, Black Swamp Gun Club, Van Wert Gun Club, and was a life member of the NRA. He also donated 28 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He enjoyed scuba diving, flying, sky diving, fishing, hunting and shooting trap. He loved his family and his best friend, his dog, Max, who went everywhere with him. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or public service. The Rev. David Howell will celebrate a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends at a later date.
