LETTER TO THE EDITOR

DEAR EDITOR,

Sunday is National Cancer Survivor’s Day and on this day friends will be celebrating life across the country.

I am a two-time cancer survivor, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and then appendiceal/colon cancer in 2009. I used to feel that I was unique, but sadly I am not. More and more people are being diagnosed with multiple cancers every day and some are very rare like mine. The great news is that I received all of my treatment in Lima, where wonderful, caring people helped me fight this dreaded disease.
So, survivors, please come and be a part of this day on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Lima Memorial Health System Medical Park. It is so good to talk with other survivors who can say, “Yes! I understand what you have been going through. I have been there!”

Sincerely submitted,
Dorothy Kohorst
