The following individuals appeared Tuesday before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Rita D. Jones, 42, Lima, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to a charge of non-support of dependents, a felony of the fifth degree. Jones was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial hearing scheduled for 8 a.m. May 19.
Raymond Bressler, 47, Ohio City, denied violating the conditions of his bond with Judge Steele then modifying the bond by raising it to $100,000 cash.
Bressler had been out on bond for two drug charges, one for felony possession of marijuana and one for felony possession of LSD. Bressler had been arrested Nov. 13 by a Van Wert City police officer after he was found in possession of the drugs during a traffic stop.

There were allegations made that Bressler may have had controlled substances in his vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, those items have been sent to the crime lab for identification.
Judge Steele ruled that if Bressler was to make the $100,000 cash bond he would also have to be on EMHA (electronic monitored house arrest).
