Driver cited for failure to yield
At 5:04 p.m. on Thursday a collision occurred when the driver of one vehicle turned into the path of a second vehicle.
William Hemker, 78, of Delphos, was heading eastbound in the 200 block of Second Street when Charles Cummings, 42, of Fort Jennings, eastbound on Second Street, failed to see Hemker and turned left into his path, resulting in Hemker’s truck striking Cummings’ car on the right side.
There were no injuries to Cummings, Hemker or Hemker’s passenger, Lenore Hemker, 78, and moderate damage to both vehicles.
Cummings was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Hit-skip driver damages car at park
At 8:51 p.m. on Thursday, a collision occurred when an unknown vehicle caused damage to a parked car at Stadium Park.
The vehicle of Sherryl George of Delphos was parked facing west at Stadium Park when it was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Damages include a broken-off driver’s side mirror, a dent in the front left, a hole punched into the driver’s side door and scratches on the fender and door.
Checking account used without
Delphos Police were contacted by a resident at 2:59 p.m. Thursday who stated that when they were checking their checking account, it was found someone had made several withdraws on the account without the permission of the victim.
Delphos police were called to a business in the 1100 block of Elida Avenue at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a theft/ lost item.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that while at a local business, the victim laid a wallet down on a counter and walked away when the victim returned someone had taken the wallet.
