VAN WERT — For the second time in a 4-day span, the Van Wert Cougars met a team from Delphos in ACME baseball.

Friday night the Cougars destroyed Jefferson 16-2.

On Monday evening, Van Wert remained perfect against their Lincoln Highway neighbors in defeating St. John's 9 -2.

St. John's out-hit Van Wert 7-4 but committed seven errors, three wild pitches and a balk to allow the Cougars extra batters in almost every inning.

St. John’s pitcher Jacob Youngpeter held Van Wert hitless until the third inning before the errors mounted to suffer the loss.

Caleb Jenkins pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and one walk with nine strikeouts to earn the victory.

Ryan Stoller led the Cougars with three hits and three scored.

Eric Vogt had two hits and knocked in both runs for the Jays. Austin Heiing also had two hits for St. John's.

Score By Innings:

St. John's 1-0-0-0-0-1-0-(2)
