He was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Landeck to Ralph and Frances (Carder) Youngpeter, who preceded him in death.
He married Dorothy Suever on July 17, 1954. She survives in Delphos.
Mr. Youngpeter is survived by two sons, Dan A. (Cindy) Youngpeter of Lima and Tim Youngpeter of Delphos; two daughters, Deb (Dan) Pothast of Delphos and Sue (John) Hawk of Harrod; sisters-in-law, Alice Youngpeter of Delphos and Linda Suever; five grandchildren, Renee Hietmeyer, Nicky Laux, Chad Hardwick, Shannon Andrews and Adam Youngpeter; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Youngpeter; two brothers, Jim and Gerald Youngpeter; two sisters, Mary Baird and Ann Hofstetter; and three infant siblings.
He was a woodworker who worked for Lima Lumber and Lima Custom Mill Works. He served in the Air Force from 1946-48 and was stationed in Germany.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery with military grave rites by the Delphos Veteran’s Council.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 p.m.
