DELPHOS — Jefferson's girls basketball team used a late 12-1 run to finally pull away from Fort Jennings 59-47 Monday night before the ’Cat Pack at Jefferson High School.

Guiding the Red and White was led by the senior tandem of Rileigh Stockwell with 28 (9 steals) and Katie Goergens with 15 (2 bombs).

The Musketeers received 15 counters from senior Cassie Lindeman and 12 each by senior Emily Kehres and junior Gabby Clippinger.

The Wildcats (9-10) overcame poor shooting — 21-of-68 (2-of-16 downtown) for 30.9 percent — in outscoring the Lady Musketeers (2-18) 27-10 in the fourth period.

In the junior varsity contest, Jefferson won 42-29.

Jefferson heads to Ottoville Wednesday in a makeup game from Jan. 25.

The Musketeers close the regular campaign at home versus Miller City Friday.
