KALIDA — Neither team was exactly hot from the field Tuesday night at the Kalida Wildcat Den, with invading Tinora struggling past the host LadyCats 37-33 in girls non-league cage action.

Ashley Mack led the Lady Rams (5-7) with 10 and Mattie Gentit added nine.

Kylie Osterhage downed nine counters for the LadyCats (5-8) and Allison Recker and Brittany Kahle added seven each.

Kalida canned 12-of-41 shots (3-of-17 trifectas) for 29.3 percent and 6-of-14 at the line (42.9%); secured 21 rebounds (8 offensive) as Nicole Recker had six and Osterhage added five; 19 turnovers and 16 fouls. Nicole Recker, Joni Kaufman, Kennedy Hoffman and Jackie Gardner (back from a foot injury suffered in the fall) had three steals each.

Tinora downed 15-of-37 shots (2-of-10 downtown) for 40.5 percent and 5-of-14 from charity (35.7%); attracted 31 rebounds (10 offensive) as Mack nabbed 14; 24 miscues and 15 fouls.

Kalida won the junior varsity matchup 31-18

Kalida pays a visit to Ottoville Thursday.
