Alice M. Kahle “Town Alice”, 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born May 25, 1932, in Ottoville to Frank and Rose (Hilvers) Allemeier, who preceded her in death.
On Oct. 11, 1958, she married William A. Kahle, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Kahle and Tim (Lori) Kahle both of Kalida and Darren Kahle of Findlay; one daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Ostendorf of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren, Brant and Deanna Kahle and Danielle, Megan and Rachel Ostendorf; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Allemeier of Hunker, Penn., and Judy Allemeier of Delphos; and one brother-in-law, Manford Gremaux of New Haven, Ind.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Allemeier, Robert Allemeier and Fredrick (Jean) Allemeier; and one sister, Lucille Gremaux.
Alice was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary Society. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Meadows of Kalida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, with Fr. Mark Hoying and Fr. Elmer Wurth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, 16085 St. Rt. 634, Fort Jennings.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
